The Chelsea International Hostel is located in the historic Chelsea District of Manhattan. Just north of Greenwich Village and south of Midtown Manhattan, it is between 7th & 8th Avenues.

Our Hostel was first opened in 1993 with only 40 beds, we now have 350 beds making us the largest independent Hostel in New York City. The Chelsea International Hostel is located in the historic Chelsea district of Manhattan – just north of Greenwich Village and south of Midtown Manhattan (between 7th and 8th Avenues). The Chelsea district has the lowest crime-rate in all of Manhattan and we also provide a professional security staff. Our property is maintained around the clock by a highly motivated maintenance and maid staff and our front desk personnel is comprised of people familiar with New York and the surrounding Boroughs.

We have an outdoor courtyard, two common dining areas and two common kitchens with Televisions. Free continental breakfast is served in our dining areas. You will be welcome to enjoy a variety of bagels, muffins, cereal, fresh fruits, coffee, milk and tea.

Footsteps away from the Path train, in trendy west village we are a centrally-located hostel, close to public transportation and minutes away from Midtown Manhattan (New York City), described as a very laid-back facility, we aim to offer the right mix of comfort and convenience at a very competitive price.

Our dorms are set in large rooms, furnished suites giving access to shared bathrooms and bath-tub shower combination. Whether a tourist, looking for new sights, an apartment-hunting student, or new in town, searching for employment, you can travel to almost anywhere within 15 to 30 minutes.

There is strict noise curfew after 23:00 or 11:00 PM. We ask anyone speaking on the main floor to show concern and compassion for others and reduce your noise level, as to not disturb the sleeping patterns of our guest. We are only a party hostel during the daytime, at night we prefer profound restful sleep.

For fire prevention purposes we do not allow any stove cooking between the hours of 23:00 and 05:00 AM with the exception of the microwave which can be used for cooking anytime.

Your stay is conditional to the acceptance of these basic civic rules. Failure to respect those rules will lead to guest being asked to modify their behavior afterwhich if the behavior persist guest will be invited to leave without compensation for their remaining stay.

We currently only accept all forms of payment including visa, mastercard, maestro, dinners, amex and paypal.

We accept cash payments in Canadian Dollar usually at par with the Canadian dollar. However check with us first as this policy may change without further notice.
